Profile and Credentials:
Janice Arlene Rost, MSC, MSTh, MDW, RM, ACH – Interfaith Minister, Psychotherapist, Counselor, Mind/Body Integrative Therapist, Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, Facilitator, Ceremonial Artist, writer, artist…
I’m credentialed as a Minister of Spiritual Counseling and Divine Wisdom, and Master of Spiritual Therapy. I completed a four-year seminary program of Interfaith Ministry and Counsel, was ordained June 1989 in Columbia University’s St. Paul’s Chapel. Licensed in New York, and granted reciprocity in additional states, I’ve been officiating weddings and other ceremonies since 1990. In addition to creating ceremony and community, I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist, experienced and gifted as a facilitator of healing for individuals, couples, and groups offering heartfelt support along life’s journey, enhancing relationships with self and others, in times of joy as well as times of challenge.
I draw from over 30 years of life experience gained through personal exploration, training, and apprenticeship with leaders in the healing and ceremonial arts. Throughout the years, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with, and often help, a diverse socio-economic population with a range of physical and mental wellness. In addition to creating ceremony and community, I’m an experienced, gifted facilitator of healing for individuals, couples, and groups. Using the healing arts of Mind/Body/Spirit Tapestry in a caring environment, I support individuals and couples along life’s journey, especially
during times of transition. My “listening” hands and heart combine with an intuitive, empathetic, eclectic approach to create an integrated and transformative experience.
Previous work history includes administrative, computer and social services employment by Westchester County, N.Y. - in Social Services and the Medical Center in Corrections and then Behavioral Health, as Community Social Worker for the mentally challenged.
I actively volunteer. Service has included: Parent Aide for child abuse prevention, Facilitator of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) workshops, Tribes Hill Music Board & Events, at The Tarrytown Music Hall and the Hammond Museum’s annual Blessing of Animals and Land.
