I’m Reverend Janice Arlene Rost, an ordained, licensed and skilled Interfaith Minister/Wedding Officiant. It would be my joy to serve as celebrant for this most memorable day. I’m here to support your vision as an Experienced, Inter/Multifaith Celebrant offering Beautiful, Meaningful, Personalized Ceremonies Joyously Presented with Elegance, Warmth & Spirit. My Ministry is Inclusive – Spiritual, Faith, Humanistic, Civil, Same Sex; it Incorporates the Traditional Tailored for Today, and for You.
I can travel to your venue or I can accommodate small groups at my Briarcliff Manor location, indoors or out by the lake (with fountain!).
Most couples I serve have little or no religious affiliation…
They are interfaith, intercultural, humanistic; some describe themselves as spiritual, some are not, and some haven’t decided. Some couples cannot marry in their house of worship, or choose not to. Some want their ceremony short and sweet, some want more than a few words to make it legal. Some are more expressively romantic, others more reserved.
Some couples find me searching the web, some from wedding venues and many have simply been referred to me…by people who know me, some of whom I have served in some way, or by their guests, or by colleagues and wedding professionals.
The couples who select me as their Officiant/Celebrant usually have one thing in common… they want their ceremony to express and strengthen their love and commitment to one another, on the day of their wedding, and for many years to come.
For your uniting in love, as your ceremonial artist I will create with you, a beautiful, meaningful, romantic and personal ceremony…
You may be the “short and get-it-over with” person or the “flourishes and ritual” fancier, you may know what you want, or not have a clue. Your circumstances will vary – length of time together, number of marriages, already married and renewing your vows, children and blended families, living together or in different locations, etc. Please be assured, your ceremony will express the heart and soul of your current and future relationship.
You may wish to include within the ceremony rituals that address specific circumstances. For example, candles, wine, and flowers can be symbolically used with the couple or with family members to express unity. Especially for “blended families,” recognizing and involving children in the ceremony is a strengthening, and sometimes healing, experience.
You may wish to express a variation of a cultural or religious tradition or ritual within the ceremony. I enjoy these sometimes challenging opportunities take one or more tradition, make it meaningful and accessible. From Japanese sake and German beer, to Mexican lassos and hand fasting, to smudge and sand and Namaste, your story and journey of how you came to this day – I’ll creatively honor your personal expression.
Using the words you choose, selected from my vast reference library, I weave your message of love and commitment into a beautiful, tasteful ceremony with meaningful words and promises – one that reflects who you are as individuals, and as a couple – a ceremony that gathers your family and friends into a circle of love, a community of witnesses who will support and may even emulate your vows.
In addition to receiving compliments on your ceremony and its presentation, you will draw strength from knowing that you’ve heard and spoken words expressing what you aspire to live by.
